Co-op Survival Horror Title ‘FOREWARNED’ Out Now on Steam [Trailer]

Published

With Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz returning to theatres today in Stephen SommersThe Mummy for its 25th anniversary, gamers can also get in on the fun with Dreambyte Games’ FOREWARNED. After being in Early Access since 2021, the recently-released co-op Survival Horror title is now out in full on Steam, with a 40% launch discount until May 9.

FOREWARNED has players and their team of archaeologists diving into the ancient tombs of the Mejai, powerful warriors cursed with unnaturally long life, to recover lost artifacts. Of course, the Mejai aren’t going to let death stop them from protecting their artifacts, as they’ll be sending their acolytes after you to stop your tomb raiding.

Featuring both player-vs-enemy and player-vs-player elements, you must take advantage of every tool at your disposal to navigate through one of twelve maps of ancient Egyptian ruins and survive. Alternatively, you can choose to provide intel to your teammates from outside the ruins in the safety of your excavation tent, using such tools as the radar system or motion sensor array to detect activity.

As you collect gold, you can purchase new equipment and upgrade your existing tools to be more powerful and effective. You may also find rare treasure during your expeditions that will be displayed in your lobby once you collect it.

If by chance you end up dead at the hands of the Mejai, you have a few options. Namely, you can choose to return as a servant of the Mejai, either helping the remaining survivors, or demonstrate loyalty to your new master? Either way, you’ll return as a mummy, complete with unique gameplay mechanics.

And for a truly unique experience, you can choose to play FOREWARNED in PC mode, or play in VR mode for increased immersion with haptic feedback.

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
