The big day has finally arrived for developer Walking Tree Games and The Tribe Must Survive. After three months of “intense tribal tinkering and an insightful journey”, the Lovecraftian strategy game is now out of Early Access and launched in full on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

To celebrate the official launch, The Tribe Must Survive is currently enjoying a 20% discount.

Alongside the expected fixes and balancing, the 1.0 release of The Tribe Must Survive has added major new features to the game:

  • Three Progression systems:
    • In-game objectives – challenges and rewards players for taking different approaches to survive.
    • XP based unlocks – Gradually unlocks upgrades, perks, and starting choices that allow players to come up with new and unique strategies with each run.
    • Challenge Mode – Challenging modifications to test even the strongest Tribe leaders!
  • Introducing Transformative Events for radically different runs
  • Deepening Tribe Build options with 17 new Spiritual upgrades
  • New ending cinematic for those that manage to survive for all 100 days

In The Tribe Must Survive, players are transported to a Lovecraftian Stone Age world where survival is not only a test of skill but a journey into the unknown. The game has been meticulously crafted for players to experience that seamlessly blends strategy, survival, and the eerie allure of Lovecraftian horror. There’s no single way to survive, and each tribe will have different advantages and troubles for the player to solve driven by the tribe members’ behaviors.

Upcoming “Unholy Alliance” Update for ‘Cult of the Lamb’ Adds Local Co-op and More [Teaser]

Published

on

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
