‘No More Room in Hell 2’ Comes Home This Halloween [Trailer]

Published

on

After years in development (seriously), Torn Banner Studios will finally be bringing its 8 player co-op action horror title No More Room in Hell 2 to fans this Halloween when it arrives in Early Access on Steam. The news comes on the back of a new trailer that debuted at Summer Game Fest.

If you’re not familiar with No More Room in Hell (and its sequel), the whole thing started out as a mod for Half-Life 2 way back in 2003 that ended up becoming its own game. Much like Left 4 Dead, NMRiH is a co-op first person survival shooter where you and a group of survivors must make your way through hordes of the walking dead, but with more players and a heavy influence from George Romero’s classic Living Dead franchise.

No More Room in Hell 2 is described as an intense permadeath co-op journey into the eerie darkness of zombie-infested zones. As an emergency responder you must survive, scavenge, stockpile and fulfil your mission – then repeat, each time in an ever-changing experience.

Scythe Dev Team Announces Film-Inspired Horror VR Title ‘Deep Cuts’ [Trailer]

Publisher tinyBuild and developer Scythe Dev Team, the masterminds behind Happy’s Humble Burger Farm, are teaming up once again for horror gamers. Their latest work is the film-inspired horror VR venture “set in the interconnected Scythe universe” in Deep Cuts.

Deep Cuts centres around filmmaker Elise Weber and best friend/creative partner Malcolm Micheaux, who are enjoying an illustrious career until their villainous cartoon creations went mad. As Elise, players will explore the Lights Camera Faction studio premises in hopes of saving Malcolm, exploring a series of blockbuster worlds based on the duo’s extensive film catalog. Luckily, for Elise, she will have Bowie, the only sane cartoon character left, along for the ride.

Each blockbuster world, from the 80s horror-inspired “Forsaken Festival” to the 70s space thriller “Origin Drill”, contains numerous interactable objects for players to use. Grab a boom mic for an improvised weapon, or fire off a prop machine gun. Solve intricate puzzles with the help of time manipulation abilities, and embrace the power of an ultimate Film Director.

“With Deep Cuts, we’ve harnessed every inch of the Meta Quest hardware to create an unmatched experience, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the physical VR medium,” said Kaleb Alfadda, Principal Technical Engineer, Director & Founder, Scythe Dev Team. “Our team meticulously optimized every aspect to ensure fluid performance and rich, detailed environments that truly bring the game to life. We’re excited to offer players an experience that fully exploits the potential of the hardware, setting a new bar for standalone VR.”

Deep Cuts will arrive on the Meta Quest later in 2024, with releases on SteamVR and PSVR2 in 2025.
