Latest Update for Sci-Fi Survival Title ‘Serum’ Adds Custom Difficulty, New Traps
Still in Early Access on Steam, Game Island and Toplitz Production’s Serum has received a new update. The latest patch for the survival adventure title is the biggest so far, adding a custom difficulty mode, combat traps and more.
Update Patch 6 adds in customized difficulty to Serum, allowing players to set their desired competitive level of challenge in their gameplay. The bigger addition are the combat traps, with slashing, piercing and blunt force variants. These aim to give players another tactical approach for surviving the mutated creatures that roam the world.
In addition to the new content, and performance tweaks, the devs have also been able to implement multiple fixes to the game as well, such as item storage, Inventory, missing localized text, UI and visual elements and more.
Beyond this latest content update, the team is sticking to the Early Access roadmap, with plans to bring a 4-player co-op mode later on this year, as well as a challenging new level for survivors to explore in the form of a canyon biome, complete with new mutated creatures and more revelations about the mutagen that is central to the game’s main story and questline.
The Ultimate Edition for Serum is also available to buy on Steam, and includes a Serum story codex, Serum digital cocktail book and Serum official guide. The Guide Edition includes the official guide and provides expert insights and strategies.
