It didn’t take long for developer com8com1 Software to settle on an Early Access release date for their roguelite FPS Bloodshed. After the title’s announcement last month, Bloodshed will be entering into Early Access on Steam on December 12. The demo that was released during Steam Next Fest is still available for you to check out.
Ahead of the game’s Early Access release, com8com1 Software and publisher Headup will publish another update in mid-December, delving into detail about the feedback and criticism the teams have received with the demo, and how they intend to optimise these points. “We strongly believe that community-engaged development is the right way to go for a game like Bloodshed. We want to make sure that we create a game and universe that both we and our players love.”
The initial release into Early Access will contain the following features, with the plan to expand these features with regular updates:
- 3 playable characters
- 1 fully playable chapter, including main and side quests
- 3 different maps/biomes
- 20+ different enemy types
- A complex, deep and fundamentally balanced system of leveling progression, upgrades and unlocks
Bloodshed is minimalist in terms of its story, where players will face the malevolent threat of the Cult, whose members are pursuing a sinister plan to resurrect an ancient deity to bring about the apocalypse. You must battle countless cultists, the undead, demons, and other creatures of the night and put them back in the ground. Players will pick from a diverse roster of playable characters, each with distinct abilities and playstyles, providing a unique gameplay experience. You’ll also have at your disposal a vast selection of weapons and skills, allowing you to experiment with various builds to discover the ideal strategy for your survival.
