Survival Horror RPG ‘Tower of Mask’ Out Now on Steam [Trailer]

Published

on

If you’re a fan of DreadXP’s Dread Delusion, but want some Survival Horror to go along with it, Papertip Studio has what you need with Tower of Mask, which has just been released on Steam. And, in case you’ve got leftover money from Christmas shopping, it’s got a launch discount of 25% for that extra incentive.

Tower of Mask is a first-person survival horror RPG that aims to capture the charm of 1980s dungeon crawlers such as classics Wizardry and Dungeon Master, and combine it with modern horror elements. You play as the lone adventurer who dares to head into the eponymous Tower of Mask to vanquish the evil that lurks within. Those who dare to enter are attacked by humans wearing bizarre masks, and no one who has entered the tower has returned alive.

Keeping with the Survival Horror element, players must solve puzzles and evade the aforementioned mysterious “masked humans” as they progress through their adventure. Weapons and equipment found during exploration are crucial for survival, and your wisdom and strategy will be tested in managing the limited resources.

And, seeing as Tower of Mask echoes the classic RPGs, the game has grid-based movement, where it’s all about anticipating enemy movement and positioning yourself to avoid attacks. You’ll have the ols standbys such as swords, spears, and other melee weapons at your disposal, as well as the ability to level up your character and enhance your strengths.

During the Future Games Show, Bandai Namco and Supermassive have announced the first DLC for Little Nightmares III in “The Backstage”. Featuring new puzzles and challenges, this additional content will take players to the darkest part of the Carnevale, where they’ll meet a new character and face new perils. You won’t have to wait long to get it, either, as Little Nightmares III – The Backstage DLC will release on June 12.

In this new adventure, Low will meet Dime, a new child who wears a torch hat, which turns out to be a very helpful tool for finding their way in what lies beneath the curtains of The Carnevale. The two children will have to face new threats and use their light to find a way to save Alone from the hands of the Puppeteer.

In the original game, players meet Low and Alone, who are trapped within the Spiral, a cluster of disturbing places. The two will have to work together to survive in a dangerous world full of delusions. As they scamper and shelter on their journey to escape the grasp of an even greater threat, their senses may also lead them astray into the shadows.

Little Nightmares III is currently available for PC via SteamXbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
