Closed Network Test Registrations Now Open for ‘Elden Ring Nightreign’

Published

It didn’t take long for Bandai Namco to give us more info on their upcoming standalone cooperative action RPG title, Elden Ring Nightreign. While there’s no release date just yet, developer FromSoftware have opened registrations for the game’s closed network test, which will run from February 14 to 16 across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

The network test will actually be held in five sessions of 3-hour blocks. The network test will allow players to try the Elden Ring Nightreign co-op experience, teaming up in squads of three to take their chosen Nightfarers to battle against new terrors, and explore an ever-changing map to defeat increasingly challenging bosses and ultimately take on the Nightlord in a three day-and-night cycle.

Registration for the network test is on now until January 20, so get clicking.

Here’s the breakdown of the times for each session:

Session 1: February 14th, 3am to 6 am PT
Session 2: February 14th, 7pm to 10 pm PT
Session 3: February 15th, 11am to 2pm PT
Session 4: February 16th, 3am to 6 am PT
Session 5: February 16th, 7pm to 10 pm PT

Elden Ring Nightreign begins at the Roundtable Hold, set in a universe parallel to the events of Elden Ring. Players must choose from eight unique characters, each with their own abilities and powerful Ultimates. Their journeys take them to Limveld, an ever-changing environment, where they will have to make split-second decisions when it comes to combat and exploration in the face of a night cycle that shrinks the map with the coming Night’s Tide. At the end of each night, players will face a powerful boss and, if victorious, awaken to bigger challenges.

Each session will culminate in the third night when they must face off against the chosen Nightlord. Individuals can fight the night alone, but strength will come in numbers. Nightfarers must learn to cooperate to take down these challenges, combining their unique abilities together for an unparalleled experience. All is not lost for those who fall in defeat. Unsuccessful runs will grant players relics to allow them to customize and upgrade their characters tailored to their personal play styles.

In addition to PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, Elden Ring Nightreign will also be coming to PC via Steam later this year.

Learn the Rules of the Game in New ‘SAW: Genesis’ Overview Video [Watch]

After the surprise reveal of SAW: Genesis at Summer Game Fest, Bloober Team has followed up the reveal with a new video giving an overview of the features available to players in the upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer title.

Co-developed by Broken Mirror Games and Anshar Studios, the game is set in the grim aftermath of World War I, where you play on either side of a 3v1 confrontation in intense matches that take place on procedurally generated maps. The game is built for short, intense matches where no two trials play out the same.

Players can either step into the role of the Judge, an early architect of Jigsaw’s philosophy, manipulating the trial and its prisoners from behind the scenes. Or, they can play as one of three Accused looking to escape the deadly labyrinth through teamwork and sacrifice. Shaped by their experiences in The Great War, the Judge is dedicated to rehabilitating humanity through pain and sacrifice.

Your goal as the Judge is to rehabilitate the Accused, making them choose between life and limb rather than killing them. Live or die. They make their choice.

Customize your approach with perks and traps, then seek to control the match from the shadows. Unlike other asymmetrical multiplayer games, the Judge is physically vulnerable and cannot overpower the Accused through sheer force alone.

SAW: Genesis is currently in development for release into Steam Early Access.
