Pixed-Based Reverse Horror Game ‘Vindefiant’ Comes to Steam This Friday [Trailer]
If you’re a fan of Carrion (let’s be honest, who isn’t?), or any other “reverse horror” game, indie dev Blakey Games is looking to have your fix later this week with the release of Vindefiant. Coming April 4 to Steam, Vindefiant sees you embarking on a path of rage and destruction against your former employer in a way that’s very reminiscent of Devolver Digital’s baby.
Vindefiant is a narrative-driven experience that centres around a man named Alyx, who was recently fired from his job. Disgruntled, Alyx unexpectedly gains supernatural powers, and after doing so, embarks on path of rage and destruction to get revenge on his former employer. Anyone who happens to cross his path will meet a gruesome end.on a relentless path of vengeance and destruction. Determined to get revenge for losing his job, you get to choose exactly how Alyx will achieve this, but at what cost?
Probably the most immediate thing you’ll recognize (and not unlike Carrion) is the tendrils Alyx sports, which he uses to move about the levels, as well as wreak havoc on his former coworkers and bystanders. You’ll also be using your tendrils to solve puzzles in order to progress through the game’s 10 chapters. Of course, you’ll probably just end up enjoying the freedom of throwing everything and everyone around, finding new ways to kill.
