Real-Time Strategy Title ‘Resident Evil: Survival Unit’ Announced for iOS, Android
Resident Evil is once again wading into the mobile gaming realm with the newly-announced title Resident Evil: Survival Unit. Developed by Aniplex Inc. and JOYCITY Corporation while working in close collaboration with Capcom “to ensure authenticity and quality,” Survival Unit “offers a fresh take on the beloved franchise, reimagining the survival horror universe as a real-time strategy experience optimized for mobile platforms, iOS and Android.”
While info on the game is still to come, Resident Evil: Survival Unit aims to “appeal to both longtime fans and new players.”
Speaking of info, the game will be fully revealed later this week on July 10 during an online showcase at 3:00 PM PDT / 5:00 PM CDT / 6:00 PM EDT. The even can be watched via the Survival Unit YouTube page. You can also find more info on the game (once it launches) on the official website.
The Resident Evil series is no stranger to mobile games, having started all the way back in 2001 with Biohazard i Survivor for players using the Docomo network provider in Japan. More recently, Capcom has ported the RE Engine entries in the series to iOS devices, including Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and the remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4.
Admittedly, the one game garnering the most attention for fans right now is Resident Evil: Requiem, which launches on February 27, 2026 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.

Get a Taste of the Action-Packed Terror in the Demo for FPS Shooter ‘BLIGHTEN’ [Trailer]
For those itching for some throwback first-person shooter action, Blight Software has just had a demo released for their upcoming FPS BLIGHTEN. The demo sees you and your squad selected to eliminate the last rebels in the eastern wastes, only to have your slaughtered, and you trapped in a decaying research facility. And you’re not alone.
You’ll explore every room of the facility for resources and weapons in an effort to stay alive. Luckily, you’ll have an extensive arsenal of various firearms at your disposal, from shotguns to assault rifles.
You’ll need them in order to take down the various blight-ridden mutated horrors throughout the mega structure. As one would expect, you’ll need to scrounge for parts and ammo, so make every shot count.
Similar to what players experienced in the early PlayStation classic Alien Trilogy, BLIGHTEN sports hand-drawn enemy sprites and animation in a 3D retro world, creating a unique and dynamic atmosphere while still scratching that throwback itch.
It’s all wrapped up in a dark narrative, where an unseen evil lurks in the shadows of the facility, shaping the horrors around you as you descend deeper into the facility. As you navigate this industrial nightmare, every Blightened creature slain is a grim reminder to what you’ve lost — and the things you’re fighting for.
Look for BLIGHTEN later this year on Steam.
