Psychological Horror Meets ‘Jumanji’ in ‘Invokyr’ [Trailer]

Published

on

Mixing the tension of survival horror with the unpredictability of a cursed board game, developer Ludogram has announced Invokyr, their new co-op psychological horror title that’s currently available to wislist on Steam.Touted as R.E.P.O. meets Jumanji, players must roll the dice to get to the end of the game, but every roll will summon unspeakable horrors they must escape or work together to control.

Set within the creaking walls of a long-abandoned home, Invokyr has players uncover the sinister history of a 1970s board game that should have remained forgotten. What begins as a nostalgic curiosity quickly spirals into a desperate struggle for freedom as each roll of the dice unleashes grotesque creatures, traps, and twisted biomes that defy reality. A cursed Gamemaster, voiced by Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate 3, Hades 2), will be their host as they try to leave the game or forever be lost to the shadows.

Luckily, players won’t face the horrors alone — unless they choose to. The game has online co-op for up to four players, and they can choose to either work together to outwit the Gamemaster and survive, or abandon each other when things turn grim. As players explore the house, they’ll uncover powerful, one-use dice, each granting unique and often dangerous effects that could turn the tide or spell disaster.

The house itself constantly shifts its form, pulling players through surreal, twisted biomes like frozen peaks, overgrown jungles, and warped toy rooms, each filled with their nightmares. Every run reveals new secrets, unlockable rewards, and deeper layers of the mystery that binds players to the game.

Invokyr is a love letter to the thrill of board games and the fear of the unknown,” said Edouard Gaudel, Ludogram CEO. “It’s about camaraderie under pressure, betrayal at the worst possible time, and the creeping dread of a house that’s watching your every move.”

Physical PS5 Release Announced for Underwater Horror Title ‘Dark Mass’ [Trailer]

Path Games provided an update for its in-development underwater haunted house title Dark Mass, revealing that the game will receive a physical release for PlayStation 5 as both a Standard Edition and a Collector’s Edition. The reveal also coincides with a new trailer that delves into the gameplay.

Dark Mass sees players take on the role of Alice, a deep-sea explorer who, alongside her brother Reed, stumbles upon the wreckage of an ancient ship. But beneath the ship lies they discover a manor lost to time, eerily untouched despite spending centuries in the ocean.

Alice decides to venture inside, but she soon realises that something is watching from the darkness, bound to the manor by a dark curse. Trapped within the manor’s decaying halls, Alice must now uncover the manor’s tragic past, solve puzzles based on real historical torture rituals, and make decisions that will ultimately define her fate.

Both the Standard Edition and Collector’s Edition will be published by SelectaPlay, with the Collector’s Edition having been designed “for horror fans and collectors,” bringing together a selection of physical items inspired by Alice’s journey, the mystery of the sunken manor and the unsettling atmosphere of the abyss.

The Standard Edition includes a physical copy of the game, along with an illustrated manual. Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition includes the physical copy and manual, along with the following:

  • Collector’s Box
  • Official Art Book
  • Lenticular postcard
  • Alice’s turtle bracelet
  • Original Soundtrack in Digipack format
  • Exclusive Steelbook

In addition to the PlayStation 5, Dark Mass will be coming to the Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The game is currently aiming for a fall 2026 release.
