Kickstarter Campaign Now Live for ‘POSTAL 2 Redux’ [Trailer]

Running With Scissors, Team Beef, and Flat2VR Studios have kicked off the Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming ground-up overhaul of POSTAL 2 in POSTAL 2 Redux. As of this morning, the campaign has already garnered 70% of its $250,000 goal, with Kickstarter-exclusive in-game rewards available for those who back the Kickstarter Exclusive tier or higher.

The Kickstarter campaign allows the trio of publisher Impact Inked, Team Beef, and Running With Scissors to “create an uncompromising vision” of the beloved cult 2003 shooter. Among the enhancements for POSTAL 2 Redux are bringing the game to the Unity engine to allow it to run perfectly on current generation hardware, no loading screens, updated graphics with dynamic lighting, combat enhancements, enhanced NPC logic and more.

As for stretch goals, the team plans on adding time of day effects, a Sandbox mode and modding support for consoles. More stretch goals will be announced as the campaign hits them. However, the team has teased the top stretch goal will be an official sequel to POSTAL 2 and its expansions.

“We are absolutely thrilled to launch the POSTAL 2 Redux Kickstarter campaign,” said Eric Masher, COO, Impact Inked. “The original game is one of the most exciting and important games of the 21st century, and we’re honored to work with Team Beef and Running With Scissors to bring the POSTAL Dude, Paradise, and everything that makes POSTAL 2 special to today’s gamers!”

POSTAL 2 Redux will come to PC, macOS, and Linux via Steam, and PlayStation 5, with future plans for Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch consoles, depending on stretch goals and platform support.

The House of The Dead fans have a new rail shooter to dive into with Alex Rassloff‘s MEATHOOK, which will be launching on Steam on July 21. If you can’t wait that long, you can check out the demo, which features seven of the game’s 10 levels.

This survival horror FPS sees you being captured by a mysterious cult, which has killed your partner and suspended you from a conveyor mechanism like a piece of meat. Making matter worse, you’re now forced to partake in a collection of ritualistic challenges, collecting weapons and cleansing the tunnels of cultists that are looking to carve you up.

Sporting throwback PS1-style graphics and gore, MEATHOOK also features a tactile physics-driven weapon system as well as a unique manual reload feature. You navigate the small interconnected levels by selecting markers to move along the conveyor that takes you throughout the levels. You’ll be stocking up on resources such as food, ammo, keys and guns.

For added replay, there are multiple paths to discover, as well as a few shortcuts. There are also secret items to discover for the completionists in mind.
