‘Dead by Daylight: Sinister Grace’ Chapter Out Now [Trailer]
After the brief reveal of Dead by Daylight: Sinister Grace earlier this month by Behaviour Interactive, the latest Chapter is out now on PC and consoles, with the Switch version arriving September 25. Sinister Grace plunges players into a nightmare of Thai folk horror, dripping gore, and gruesome body horror with a terrifying new Killer in The Krasue, and an energetic new Survivor in Vee Boonyasak.
Her opera singing days over, The Krasue now seeks victims amidst The Fog, her head tearing violently from her body to pursue and feed on Survivors. The peak of body horror, The Krasue is skinless, sticky, and squelching, a trail of entrails dangle from her neck. And while there’s plenty of gruesome gore to appreciate, it’s important to remember that The Krasue curses its victims. In this case, the recipient of its curse was Burong Sukapat, a beautiful and talented opera performer. By day, she would enrapture audiences with a voice both ethereal and haunting.
Little did they know that by night, she was stalking the streets of Siam as a disembodied head, devouring everything from decaying carcasses, to garbage, to human flesh.
This duality manifests in game, granting players the ability to swap between two forms. Traverse on foot to spit a Leeching Gland at Survivors, making them more vulnerable to your attacks. Once Survivors are cursed, Krasue players can switch to Head Form to pursue them and strike with your Intestinal Whip.
Arriving alongside The Krasue is Vee Boonyasak, a Thai drummer from the Punk band Axekick. Joining a growing roster of musicians in The Fog, Vee shares an interesting musical connection with The Krasue. Though they were actively performing at different times, Vee stumbled upon several haunting recordings of Burong singing. Not long after, Vee began to hear that same strange and unsettling music during Axekick’s climatic encore. Suffice it to say, it did not end well.
And as both characters were performers, the Sinister Grace Collection includes Outfits they once wore on their respective stages; one operatic, the other punk rock. It also brings a few casual options into the mix, including a glimpse at what Burong Sukapat might have worn during her day-to-day life – before the Krasue emerged to hunt.
While not quite Snakes on a Plane or Red Eye, co-developers Liquid Static Studio and Snapping Turtle have something darker in mind with their upcoming job-sim horror game, Night Plane. Coming to Steam later this year, the game has you doing the expected work as a flight attendant, but with the added bonus of trying to find demons hiding amongst the passengers.
It’s 1999, and it’s your first day on the job. You must do the usual things as a flight attendant: welcoming passengers aboard, check tickets, and attend to their needs. However, shape-shifting entities may attempt to come aboard disguised as humans. So, your additional job in Night Plane is to question passengers, and find a way to remove any unauthorized non-human visitors from the plane.
That also leads to assisting passengers in unorthodox ways inside the plane, outside the plane, and in places not listed in your training manual. To make things even more complicated, you’ll need to make tough decisions with irreversible consequences. Naturally, the company will not be held accountable for any mistakes you make. You live with them.
Oh, and seeing as this is a plane, you may encounter some turbulence while in flight, along with power failures, lightning strikes and more. All of which, including your decisions, will lead to one of the multiple endings in Night Plane.
