Following up its reveal this past June, Koei Tecmo and developer Team NINJA have announced that their demonic soulslike RPG Nioh 3 will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on February 6, 2026. Also revealed were several editions of the game, including a North American exclusive “Treasure Box” Edition.

In Nioh 3, players take on the role of Tokugawa Takechiyo, poised to become the next Shogun during Japan’s turbulent Sengoku period. However, Takechiyo’s younger brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, jealous of his brother’s succession, plots to overthrow him. Empowered by a sinister force, Kunimatsu leads a horde of yokai in a fierce assault on Takechiyo, abruptly ending the era of peace and plunging Japan into hell. Guided by the mysterious power of his guardian spirit Kusanagi, Takechiyo transcends time to survive this kingdom in dire straits and become Shogun.

During their journey, players will encounter various characters from different eras including Takeda Shingen, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and Minamoto no Yoritomo. Other well-known figures familiar to fans will cross paths with Takechiyo, including Hattori Hanzo, Honda Tadakatsu, and Saito Fuku.

In addition to the standard edition, players can digitally pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition of Nioh 3, which includes the base game, Digital Pre-Order Bonus (Hellfire Warrior Armor set, Hellfire Ninja Attire set, Scampuss Furball Netsuke Charm accessory), Digital Deluxe Edition Bonus (Infernal Weapons Set – 14 types, Kodama Netsuke Charm accessory), two add-on DLCs, and a Season Pass Bonus (Chijiko Netsuke Charm accessory). The Season Pass is also available to purchase separately and includes two add-on DLCs, as well as the Season Pass Bonus (Chijiko Netsuke Charm accessory).

For European players, a region-exclusive SteelBook edition is also available to pre-order, and comes with the base game and two exclusive bonus DLCs. All versions of the game come with an Early Purchase Bonus which can be redeemed from the PlayStation Store and Steam, available for a limited time after the game releases.

And as mentioned, players can also pre-order a special PlayStation 5 physical edition exclusively through the NIS America Store. The Nioh 3 Treasure Box includes the base game, a Scampuss Furball Nesuke Charm Keychain, a Nioh 3 Original Desk Pad, the Official Artbook, and a Nioh 3 Selection Soundtrack CD.

Bloody Body Horror Revealed in ‘Stellar Blade: Blood Rain’, Currently in Development [Trailer]

Shift Up has shifted things dramatically from 2024’s action-adventure game Stellar Blade, offering up a body horror bonanza in the newly announced sequel, Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. The sequel is currently early in development, but if the trailer is any indication, players will be in for plenty of body horror.

Continuing the story from the original Stellar Blade, Blood Rain will star a new protagonist named Eve. Earth has been abandoned, and what is left of humanity has fled to a Colony in outer space.

Shift Up had mentioned during a Q&A following its latest earnings presentation last month that development on Blood Rain (which was still unannounced at the time) was progressing smoothly, and was on track to meet their targeted quality standards.

Shift Up stated that with this new title it would be transitioning to a first-party service model, effectively moving away from the restrictions the game experienced with original publisher Sony, which had the game under an exclusivity agreement for the PlayStation 5. “This will allow us to lead marketing strategies that fully reflect the distinctive identity of the Stellar Blade IP, and we expect to communicate the unique appeal of its universe to players more directly and effectively.”

Whether this means that Xbox Players will finally be able to play the original game (or its sequel) is still not clear. Meanwhile, Stellar Blade is reportedly being ported to the Nintendo Switch 2, but no official confirmation has been made.
