‘Phasmophobia’ “Crimson Eye” Event Returns October 9
It’s back again. Kinetic Games will be launching the “Crimson Eye” Halloween event for Phasmophobia on Thursday, October 9. Running until Halloween, the event will see Ghost Hunters tasked with working together to complete goals in order to unlock in-game rewards. As with the “Cursed Hollow” event earlier this year, Kinetic Games has made several tweaks to the previous iteration of the event to keep players on their toes.
Throughout the event, select maps will play host to guaranteed Blood Moon weather. Be warned as the Blood Moon brings with it an increase in difficulty when conducting your investigations. Ghosts will have increased speed during hunts and your Sanity will drain quicker. However, in return you’ll be granted higher rewards upon completing an investigation.
This year’s event locations include the following maps:
- 6 Tanglewood Drive
- Camp Woodwind
- Grafton Farmhouse
- Bleasdale Farmhouse
- Point Hope
- 42 Edgefield Road
- 13 Willow Street
These maps will rotate in groups of 4 each day and will guarantee Blood Moon weather. Maps not included in the event, as well as those above that are not active on a given day, will have a random chance of Blood Moon weather.
For those who are successful in their investigations during the rise of the Blood Moon, you’ll garner various rewards. Firstly, all rewards received during Blood Moon weather will be boosted by 10%, meaning the higher the risk, the higher the reward.
On top of extra rewards from successful investigations, the Crimson Eye will bestow upon the community a range of rewards should they successfully complete the goals set out at the start of the event. Based on feedback from previous events, there is now a split between Community Goals and Personal Goals:
- Community Goal 1 – Receive the Child of the Cult ID Card & Badge set.
- Community Goal 2 – Receive the Crimson Eye trophy.
- Personal Goal 1 – Receive the animated Child of the Cult ID Card.
- Personal Goal 2 – Upgrade the Crimson Eye trophy (can be completed 3 times).
Once these goals have been reached, the rewards will be auto-claimed for all players so there’s no need to worry about missing out.
The “Crimson Eye” event will be available for Phasmophobia players on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2, and the Xbox Series.

Definitive Edition of Throwback Survival Horror Game ‘Doctor Viscera’ Launches June 23 [Trailer]
For those who enjoy their survival horror gaming with a side of old-school cheese, you have Liminal Road’s Doctor Viscera. Released last October on Steam, the game is set to receive its Definitive Edition next week on June 23rd, with plans for a release on consoles to be shared soon. The Doctor Viscera: Definitive Edition will include a variety of improvements, adjustments, and new content designed to make the experience even more intense. All of this content will be available free to existing owners.
For those not in the know, Doctor Viscera is a throwback survival horror title with PSX-inspired visuals, where you must escape the abandoned GrimmHaus Asylum. You must explore the asylum’s various rooms, find useful items, and solve puzzles to unlock new areas and discover escape routes. At the same time, you’ll need to be on the lookout for the Doctor and his grotesque experiments.
The biggest addition to the Definitive Edition is the Nurse, a brand-new enemy who will actively pursue players throughout the campaign. Although slower than the eponymous doctor, the nurse introduces a completely different gameplay dynamic by using ranged attacks with a firearm, forcing players to rethink their routes, strategies, and survival tactics.
Under certain circumstances, you can disarm the Nurse, creating entirely new situations and possibilities within the game.
Doctor Viscera: Definitive Edition also introduces a new area to the map, featuring a tram system. In addition to serving as a new exploration route, it can also be used to quickly escape pursuers and travel between different sections of the asylum.
The update also brings improvements across multiple aspects of the experience, including:
- Level design changes
- Puzzle redesigns
- Performance optimizations
- New immersive audio system
- Controller support
- New menu interfaces
If you’re looking to check out the game before buying it, you can check out the demo that’s also available on Steam.
