‘Carmageddon’ Rises Again in ‘Carmageddon: Rogue Shift’ for PC, Consoles [Trailer]

Published

The Carmageddon franchise is back again from the dead, thanks to publisher/developer 34BigThings and Carmageddon: Rogue Shift. Unveiled at last week’s PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, Rogue Shift will launch in early 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Carmageddon: Rogue Shift takes place in the year 2050, where the world is a post‑apocalyptic wasteland, thanks to hordes of nightmarish creatures known as the Wasted. Every night, the streets are overrun with the Wasted, forcing everyone to barricade themselves in their skyscraper-homes for survival. The solution: the Carmageddon.

These deadly races promise power, prestige, and valuable prizes to the participants. Most importantly, however, the champion wins the right to attempt to escape to the spaceport beyond the mountains. It’s a crapshoot, but it’s better than being stuck on Earth. Entering the Carmageddon, you’re equipped with little more than a rust bucket, scavenged fuel, and a makeshift weapon. You’ll face off against rival gangs like the Autoscum and other rogues in a fight for survival. Each destruction race is an opportunity to win parts and upgrades, a step towards the ultimate escape.

Unlike the previous entries (and as its name implies), Rogue Shift adopts a roguelite approach. Every Campaign run offers a unique journey through a randomly-generated graph. With branching paths, varied objectives, and ever-changing time-of-day and weather conditions, no two runs are the same. Win events and smash opponents to gain Credits. Maneuvers such as killing Wasteds, drifts, jumps, and flicks also grant rewards. You’ll need to strategically plan your route so you can reach Shops in order to repair your car, swap weapons, or install one of the 80+ unlockable perks.

Of course, things don’t end when you vehicle is totalled. Another driver will step up, and the challenge will resume anew. Earn Beatcoins to unlock permanent bonuses and new content between runs in the Black Market. Discover synergies between these elements to turn your vehicle into the ultimate killing machine.

Given its content, it’d be apropos for GPTRACK50 to release its zombie action-adventure RPG Stupid Never Dies around Halloween, wouldn’t it? That’s exactly what we’re getting, as the game will launch October 21 for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5. The announcement was accompanied by a short trailer featuring Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers, a cosmic custodian who bears more than a passing resemblance to MC Hammer, busting a move.

As if that wasn’t enough to get you excited for the apocalypse, players can get an early listen to Stupid Never Dies‘ soundtrack with the release of two tracks—the official theme songs for the game—on August 4. The tracks will be available to stream via Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and other major music streaming platforms. In the meantime, you can check them out below via YouTube.

In the aftermath of the Great War, humanity teeters on the brink of extinction and monsters rule the land. At the bottom rung of this society is Davy, a lowly zombie scraping by in a deserted shopping mall. One day, he discovers the human girl Julia frozen to death in a freezer…and falls in love at first sight.
