New ‘Nioh 3’ Demo to be Released January 29 [Trailer]

Along with debuting a new trailer at The Game Awards late last week, Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA announced that their upcoming souls-like Nioh 3 will be getting a new demo for fans to dive into on January 29. If that’s not enough, the teams also revealed new exclusive early purchase bonuses for fans.

Before transcending through time to save Japan, players will be able to sharpen their blades in the new demo in solo or online multiplayer for up to three players. After completing the demo, players will be able to carry over their save data to the final game. More details about the new demo will be released at a later date.

Additionally, new exclusive bonuses for players who will receive the early purchase bonus have been revealed. These players will receive bonus armor sets inspired by the protagonists from the previous titles, the “Youngblood Armor (Samurai)” worn by William in Nioh and the “Lone Wolf’s Armor (Ninja)” worn by Hiddy in Nioh 2. These items will be obtained by redeeming the early purchase bonus “Hellfrost Armor Set” in game. As a disclaimer, the Early Purchase Bonus will be available to redeem in-game until February 19.

In Nioh 3, players take on the role of Tokugawa Takechiyo, poised to become the next Shogun during Japan’s turbulent Sengoku period. However, Takechiyo’s younger brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, jealous of his brother’s succession, plots to overthrow him. Empowered by a sinister force, Kunimatsu leads a horde of yokai in a fierce assault on Takechiyo, abruptly ending the era of peace and plunging Japan into hell. Guided by the mysterious power of his guardian spirit Kusanagi, Takechiyo transcends time to survive this kingdom in dire straits and become Shogun.

Nioh 3 will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on February 6, 2026.
