‘The Blood of Dawnwalker’ Kicks off Its Launch Year With a New Gameplay Trailer [Watch]
Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco have rung in the new year with fresh info on their upcoming dark fantasy RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker in the form of a brand new teaser trailer. Featuring gameplay captured from the current PC beta version of the game, the trailer shows new characters who will play a key role in the adventure, as well as previously unseen locations from game’s setting in the Carpathian Mountains.
Along with the new teaser, Rebel Wolves also revealed the official cover art for The Blood of Dawnwalker, depicting the protagonist Coen, as well as the game’s main musical theme, composed by Nikola Kołodziejczyk, the studio’s lead composer, and performed by the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of Tychy.
“The theme leans heavily on sounds and instruments associated with the place and time of the game – the 14th century, at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. We wanted to pay homage to that era and its people, and stay as true to historical authenticity as possible,” explains Kołodziejczyk.
Created by former CD Projekt RED developers, The Blood of Dawnwalker takes place in 14th-century Europe in Vale Sangora, a forgotten corner of the Carpthian Mountains. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. Vampires seize the opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they’ve been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it.
You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker. Human by day, vampire by night, Coen will have to use this power to rescue his family, captured by the vampiric feudal lords who have taken over Vale Sangora. You must choose to fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is in development for release later this year on Steam, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.
