RoboCop: Rogue City publisher NACON and developer Teyon appear to have leaked a previously-unannounced World of Darkness title in the form of a Hunter: The Reckoning adaptation. Per Gematsu (and users on X), the developer apparently revealed the existence of the game by accident late last week as part of an update pushed to Steam that replaced the game files for Rogue City with an early build for the Hunter: The Reckoning title.
Developer Teyon (which developed RoboCop: Rogue City) quickly rectified the situation, but not before several users were able to download the “update” to discover the build, which was dated May 20, 2025. Neither NACON nor Teyon have commented yet on this leak.
For those not in the know, Hunter: The Reckoning is a horror RPG (naturally) set in modern times, in which players take the roles of human characters who become monster hunters after being made aware of the existence of the supernatural. Monster hunters adhere to one of several creeds: Avengers, Defenders, Hermits, Innocents, Judges, Martyrs, Redeemers, Visionaries, or Waywards. The choice of creed by the player determines characters’ philosophies, how they relate to the hunt, what their weaknesses are, and which powers (called “edges”) they will learn.
Hunter: The Reckoning is no stranger to video game adaptations, having the first adaptation released back in 2002 for the Xbox and Nintendo Gamecube. That was followed by Hunter: The Reckoning – Wayward for the PlayStation 2 and Hunter: The Reckoning – Redeemer for the Xbox in 2003. All of these games were developed by High Voltage Software. The most recent game is Hunter: The Reckoning – The Beast of Glenkildove, an interactive fiction title for mobile devices and web browsers released last year by Choice of Games.
While this may be good news for fans of the original games, keep in mind that the existence of this game was not announced by usual means. Meaning, this could be a game that was started but cancelled last year (given the build date). Until NACON or Teyon announce anything, keep your fingers crossed.
