Underwater Co-op Horror Game ‘Murky Divers’ Comes to PlayStation 5 and Xbox on June 30

Having launched on Steam, the only logical place for developer Embers and publisher Oro Interactive to go next with their underwater co-op horror Murky Divers is to consoles. As a result, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series users will get their chance to deep dive into the game on June 30. Not only that, but PlayStation 5 players can also snag a physical version of Murky Divers, which includes a few physical goodies.

Sporting its unique blend of comedy horror and thalassophobia (that’s fear of deep bodies of water), Murky Divers will feature full cross-play support, allowing crews of up to 8 players to collaborate (or collide) across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms seamlessly.

As mentioned, Embers will also be releasing a physical version for the PS5, courtesy of Maximum Entertainment. Pre-orders for the PharmaCorps. Edition will start to go live soon at participating retailers. As for what you get, here’s the rundown:

  • the physical game
  • a reversible cover sheet for the case
  • a PharmaCorps poster
  • digital wallpapers and concept art
  • game stickers

Murky Divers puts you or as part of an 8-person team to take a trip down to the bottom of the ocean. Your mission: Remove all corpses from Pharma Corps’ abandoned labs, and erase any evidence of their failed experiments. It’s never that easy, of course, as you’ll need to deal with things lurking in these wrecks, and oxygen might run out quicker than you expect.

You’ll need to coordinate with your team to navigate your sub to these wrecks, where you’ll need to rely on sonar and stations to “see” and pilot it to the wrecks. After that, you’ll be stepping out and extracting dead bodies from the wrecks, which you’ll back to the sub and destroy them using a shredder.

After you survive, you can spend your hard-earned credits on items, upgrades, and modules to boost your chances on the next expedition. Equip items like Agent NUTS, the shopping cart, or the scooter to make your job a little easier. You can even upgrade with see-through vision, body part detectors, or a grappling hook. Along with your suit, you can also enhance your sub with modules for greater depth, bigger fishing nets, and more.
