Point and Click Survival Horror Game ‘The Bagman’ Receives Demo

One of the titles we’re looking forward to later this year is Bad Tasty’s pixel-based survival horror title The Bagman, which has just received a demo for those itching to get a taste of throwback point-and-click gaming that echoes the original Clock Tower.

“With the demo (Act 0), I’ve tried to capture the different elements of the systems without overwhelming the player,” states Nate from Bad Tasty. “But I’d really love to hear your feedback and thoughts on Discord or in the Steam discussions. I may bring some complexity back in regarding NPC actions in the demo, but I’m waiting on feedback before making any further changes to the demo.”

Nate says that the demo will receive updates and fixes as development on The Bagman progresses.

The Bagman centers on Eloise, who is working her normal babysitting job. The usual free pizza, a sleeping baby, and a few friends sneaking in to keep her company through the night. However, one fateful evening has her fighting for her life, as the child wasn’t the only thing asleep, and something much older refuses to rest.

Developed not only for modern platforms but also for the Sega Genesis in mind, the game’s art style, colour palettes, and overall design “embrace the hardware’s constraints, adding to an authentic, beautifully crafted 16‑bit pixel‑art aesthetic.” Combining fast, stealth‑based mechanics with point‑and‑click adventures, players will be running, hiding, and surviving the horrors that await them, along with solving puzzles and uncovering plots.

You are joined by two of your best friends. They’re there to help, but they’re counting on your instructions to help them survive. Once they’re dead, they stay dead. Choices matter and have knock-on effects. Multiple endings come down to the choices that you make, the paths you walk down and the friends who get torn apart.

Look for The Bagman to arrive later this year on Steam.
