‘Halloween: The Game’ – Here’s How You Get to Play as Dr. Loomis

Halloween just isn’t Halloween without Michael Myers and without Laurie Strode, but it’s also not truly Halloween without Dr. Loomis. The Captain Ahab to the Shape’s Moby Dick, Loomis was of course played by Donald Pleasence in the original Halloween and several of its sequels, and the iconic character returns to the screen later this year in Halloween: The Game.

The best part? You will be able to play as Dr. Loomis in Halloween: The Game!

But there’s a catch. You have to die first…

The developers preview, “So what happens in the likely event that a Civilian becomes another display of Michael’s wretched, inhumane nature? Well, their Haddonfield story isn’t over just yet. Even in death, they can support their friends and even return as a Sheriff’s Deputy or the unrelenting Dr. Loomis.”

“Once they’ve reemerged upon the streets of Haddonfield, they can cooperate with the remaining Civilians and responding officers to try and put a stop to Michael’s murderous rampage,” the team continues. “While he can’t be killed, with enough community resistance, the proper equipment, and sheer manpower, he can be detained and shipped back to Smith’s Grove Sanitarium.”

Halloween: The Game will be released on September 8, 2026. The video game will feature online multiplayer, offline bots, and yes, even a single-player story mode!

The upcoming game will invite Halloween fans to step into the chilling world of John Carpenter’s genre-defining film, now transformed into a suspenseful one-versus-many stealth horror experience. Put on the iconic mask to become the ultimate slasher, Michael Myers, stalking and executing the citizens of Haddonfield one by one, or striving to thwart Michael Myers’ plans as Civilians determined to save the unaware townsfolk before it’s too late.
