Nightmarish Life Sim RPG ‘Neverway’ Aims For October Release; New Prologue Demo Available Now [Trailer]

Eager to give Coldblood and Outersloth’s life-simulator-meets-RPG-nightmare-adventure Neverway a spin ahead of its full release? You can do that today, thanks to the newly-released playable prologue out now on Steam. In addition to the prologue, Coldblood has released a new trailer for the horror-tinged life sim, showcasing more of what players can expect when it releases for the Nintendo Switch and Steam later this October.

The playable prologue invites players to about an hour of the game, including the opening, which explores how Fiona gets to her new island home. The prologue then drops you into a mind-boggling midgame segment of Neverway that reveals that nothing is truly as it seems, transporting you into a simulation where you’ll try to piece together what is happening around you and fight your way deeper into Fiona’s memories.

In Neverway, players step into the shoes of Fiona, who, after quitting her dead end job, starts over with a farm. However, she quickly finds herself the immortal herald of a dead god, unraveling a new life of psychological horror. As a result, you must now not only keep your life from falling apart, but must also search for Neverway, a nightmare reality that is slowly leaking into your own.

Throughout Neverway, you’ll meet up with multiple characters, each with their own unique routines and storylines. As your relationships with these characters develops, Fiona will unlock buffs and combat abilities that make her journey a little easier. However, you’ll need to deal with the immortal herald thing. Will you lie to them about your current situation, or will you tell them the truth?
