Rebel Wolves to Reveal More ‘The Blood of Dawnwalker’ Details Next Week [Teaser]

Published

Developer Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco have set an April 28 stream for a Road to Launch Event for The Blood of Dawnwalker. The devteam announced that they will share highly-anticipated details about the upcoming action dark fantasy RPG, including its release date. The studio will also present new gameplay focused on the game’s open world, along with a brand new story trailer, system requirements, and more.

The stream will kick off at 9:00 a.m. PDT, and will be available to watch on YouTube and Twitch.

“We are getting closer and closer to the most important milestone in our four-year development journey – the release of The Blood of Dawnwalker, the first chapter of our original dark fantasy saga,” states Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. “On behalf of the entire Rebel Wolves studio, I would like to invite all players to the upcoming stream, during which you will not only get the start date of your adventure in Vale Sangora, but also see the gameplay changes we have implemented over the past months, with a particular focus on activities tied to the game’s open world.”

The game takes place in 14th-century Europe in Vale Sangora, a forgotten corner of the Carpthian Mountains. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. Vampires seize the opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they’ve been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it.

You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker. Human by day, vampire by night, Coen will have to use this power to rescue his family, captured by the vampiric feudal lords who have taken over Vale Sangora. You must choose to fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is in development for release later this year on SteamXbox Series and PlayStation 5.

Bloody Body Horror Revealed in ‘Stellar Blade: Blood Rain’, Currently in Development [Trailer]

Shift Up has shifted things dramatically from 2024’s action-adventure game Stellar Blade, offering up a body horror bonanza in the newly announced sequel, Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. The sequel is currently early in development, but if the trailer is any indication, players will be in for plenty of body horror.

Continuing the story from the original Stellar Blade, Blood Rain will star a new protagonist named Eve. Earth has been abandoned, and what is left of humanity has fled to a Colony in outer space.

Shift Up had mentioned during a Q&A following its latest earnings presentation last month that development on Blood Rain (which was still unannounced at the time) was progressing smoothly, and was on track to meet their targeted quality standards.

Shift Up stated that with this new title it would be transitioning to a first-party service model, effectively moving away from the restrictions the game experienced with original publisher Sony, which had the game under an exclusivity agreement for the PlayStation 5. “This will allow us to lead marketing strategies that fully reflect the distinctive identity of the Stellar Blade IP, and we expect to communicate the unique appeal of its universe to players more directly and effectively.”

Whether this means that Xbox Players will finally be able to play the original game (or its sequel) is still not clear. Meanwhile, Stellar Blade is reportedly being ported to the Nintendo Switch 2, but no official confirmation has been made.
