BillyTime!Games Teases ‘Ghostbusters: Special Edition’ Update
Three years ago, BillyTime!Games had remedied a glaring omission with their mod of the Sega Genesis title Ghostbusters, adding Ernie Hudson’s Winston Zeddemore into the game. Now they’re teasing an update for their Ghostbusters: Special Edition romhack, further adding several new features, including a brand-new playable character.
Per Ghostbusters News, BillyTime!Games had taken to X to tease the update in a series of posts. The “big swing” of an update adds three new cheat codes, “7 or 8 different” title screen colors and “maybe 5 or 6” different Sega Logos can now appear when booting up the game, confirmations on cheat codes entered, some new Qualtiy-of-Life upgrades, and a “goofy crossover character” that you never saw coming.
Obviously keeping the identity of the character secret (for now), BillyTime!Games says that character was “designed for newcomers who want to play the game at their own pace.” If that wasn’t enough, BillyTime!Games is planning on another character that will represent the expanded universe of Ghostbusters, bringing the total roster of characters in the game to nine.
No timeline on when exactly fans will expect the update to Ghostbusters: Special Edition, but you can still check out the previous version of the romhack via ROMhacking.net.

‘Lords of the Fallen II’ Pushed to Q1 2027 Release
Those itching to get their hands on Lords of the Fallen II this fall will have to wait a while longer. Developer Hexworks and publisher CI Games have announced that the bloody souls-like has had its release pushed to Q1 2027. The reasons for the delay are to focus on refining the gameplay, as well as to avoid getting crowded out during the hectic holiday season.
CI Games founder and CE Marek Tyminski stated the following regarding the delay:
“As development progresses, we have worked closely with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a dedicated group of seasoned Souls-like veterans within our Launch Creative Team. Their valuable ongoing input, combined with the team’s vision, has identified meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience.
These enhancements will benefit from additional integration, iteration, and polishing time, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch.
This updated release window also strategically positions Lords of the Fallen II outside of a highly competitive holiday period, ensuring the game receives the dedicated attention it deserves.
The team remains fully energized by the strong response to our recent reveals and is deeply focused on delivering a standout dark fantasy action RPG and a worthy successor to the Lords of the Fallen franchise. We are grateful for the continued passion, feedback, and support from our community, and we look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months.”
Currently in active development and available to wishlist on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via the Epic Games Store., Lords of the Fallen II is set in a human realm besieged by eons of malevolent gods, visceral magic, and unflinching defenders. 1,000 years after the fall of the demon god, Adyr, a lone kingdom stands against the forces of the dead realm known as Umbral and its eldritch master.
As the Lampbearer, players can rend enemies limb from limb with a brand new dismemberment feature and silence them forever with all-new executions in a fast and fluid combat system. An even greater wealth of enemy types and truly jaw-dropping boss battles will test even the strongest in solo play or best-in-class shared progression co-op.
