Fans of developer Buckshot Software and Retrovibe’s Project Warlock who are itching for more are in luck with the upcoming Project Warlock: Lost Chapters. Best of all, you won’t have to wait long to get a taste of the retro FPS action, as the Steam playtest will kick off in the next few weeks, where everyone who signs up is guaranteed access. Just head over to the game’s Steam store page, click the “Request Access” button, and claim your spot.
Buckshot elaborated on the Lost Chapters playtest in a new press release, stating that this is a dedicated build of the game that’s specific for this public test. Rather than giving players the opening levels, the plan is to jump across all 3 chapters to show off the game’s core variety:
- 3 Distinct Chapters: Get a taste of different environments, visual themes, and levels from across the whole game.
- Expanded Arsenal: Test out a varied selection of weapons unlocked from different stages of the game to see how the combat loop feels.
- Diverse Enemy Roster: Face off against a diverse horde of foes from across all three chapters to help test combat flow and balance.
In Project Warlock: Lost Chapters, players once again step into the shoes of Warlock, this time before he ascended to the Throne of Hell, setting out on an adventure to claim back the Pirate, Space and Vietnam realms on his quest to vanquish evil spawning in adjacent domains.
In addition to the three new biomes, players will have access to a brand new arsenal of locale-specific weapons, new spells, and of course, plenty of new monsters and larger-than-life bosses to face.
