With the Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin Chapter coming up fast, Behaviour Interactive has taken the time and dropped a new trailer for the upcoming release, focusing on the Chapter’s story. Since Chorus of Sin is the first Chapter that’s been fully influenced and voted on by the Dead by Daylight community, it’s understandable that you’d want to know just what’s going on before you dive in next week.
The first community-driven chapter for the asymmetrical multiplayer title is now available in the Steam Public Test Build, introducing an otherworldly Killer, The Judgement, and post-apocalyptic Survivor, Aurora Stardotter. Both characters have been forged by the community through hundreds of thousands of votes spanning over a year and a half.
Through a series of votes, blog posts, and community streams, the Dead by Daylight community voted on a variety of different topics, with the outcomes determining elements of the Chapter’s development. For their Killer, they chose an otherworldly being with divine themes – a first among the game’s villainous roster. For their Survivor, they chose a spiritual scientist from a world destroyed by The Judgment itself, adding a post-apocalyptic tilt to this Chapter’s lore.
With Divine Light, The Judgment summons a pillar of divine light that injures Survivors and marks them with Heresy. When downed, marked Survivors may be sent into Exile: a realm of eternal punishment where they must avoid hazards or risk speeding up their own demise.
The Judgment is blessed with three character-specific perks:
Celestial Witness briefly reveals your Obsession’s aura when they are a great distance away. Hex: Under Your Thumb ignites a Dull Totem that limits Survivors’ Haste after the first time they gain a Hook State. Finally, whenever you damage a Generator, Lay Waste will make it regress faster the further it has been repaired.
Meanwhile, Survivor Aurora Stardotter arrives with three character-specific Perks. Fruits of Your Labor lets you stack up tokens as you complete Generators. When you finish your repairs, you’ll gain Haste and increased healing progress for each token you possess. While being chased by the Killer, Salvation’s Cry briefly reveals both of your auras to fellow Survivors. Your teammates’ auras will become visible to you in turn. Finally, Boon: Steadfast creates a Boon Totem that causes Generators in range to regress more slowly and be repaired faster.
Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin and officially releases on August 25 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
