Gamescom attendees will get a chance to play the prologue of the highly-anticipated Alien: Isolation 2 this week, but the world’s biggest gaming event won’t be where developer Creative Assembly will reveal the game’s release date.
That was confirmed in a reply on social media, where the official Alien: Isolation 2 account confirmed no release date as of yet.
Considering that not even a broad launch window has been set yet, it may be a while before we know exactly when to expect the new chapter in one of the most unnerving video game experiences.
The sequel game is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and the Nintendo Switch 2, with the game taking place in the colony known as Kurasaki Station.
The next chapter will bring players face-to-face once more with cinema’s deadliest killer: Alien’s Xenomorph. With a brand-new setting, story and protagonist, players will embrace a whole new adventure, while experiencing the same deadly tension which established the original game as the ultimate survival-horror experience.
On a remote, storm-ravaged colony-world, players will endure the elements as they navigate the planet’s surface, and explore the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station. It’s a new hunting-ground for the Xenomorphs, forcing players to improvise and develop new tools, techniques and tactics to survive the deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
Gamescom takes place from August 26 to August 31 in Cologne, Germany, at the Koelnmesse exhibition center. You can get your tickets for that event here.
