‘Heavy Metal Death Can’ Coming to PlayStation 5 This Fall

Previously released this past May onto Steam, Krufs Productions will bring its unforgiving survival horror title Heavy Metal Death Can to the PlayStation 5 this fall. Those who prefer to stick with the PC version can pick up the game on Steam with a 20% discount from now until August 30. You can also check out the demo on Steam.

Taking place in an alternate history 1970s Cold War submarine Domherren in the depths of the Norwegian Sea, you must fight to stay alive against your fallen crew, their corpses controlled by the insidious Sludge. As you do so, you must also work to find survivors and uncover the mystery behind the Sludge.

Much like titles such as Crow Country, Heavy Metal Death Can is inspired by the style of early console classics. The game sports the classic fixed camera angles and tank controls (with optional modernized controls). It’s also not for the lackadaisical. Resource management and high-stakes decision-making are required, as the Sludge isn’t a threat you can simply shoot your way through. Every bullet must be carefully considered.

Heightening the tension is the game’s distorted soundtrack and unnerving audio design, ensuring players that they’re never truly safe, even in silence.
