Navigate a Nation of Surveillance and Fear in Psychological Horror Game ‘DEPERSON’ [Trailer]

After catching gamers’ attention at this year’s Gamescom with their surreal psychological horror adventure DEPERSON, independent developer Error Thing and publisher PARCO GAMES brought the game to Seattle over the weekend to The MIX Fall Showcase. They also released a new reveal trailer for the game, which named a Best Visuals finalist at the Gamescom Awards this year.

DEPERSON follows Aaron, a man who wakes up in Indrija, a nation consumed by surveillance and fear, with no memory of who he is. As he searches for answers, reality begins to twist, forcing Aaron to confront things he may wish he could forget.

Players must observe their surroundings, use each character’s unique abilities, and manipulate the environment to overcome puzzles and dangers ahead. Their choices shape Aaron and the people around him, with the potential to make him stronger, crueler, or even more broken.

You’ll navigate a branching narrative, exploring themes of psychological horror, oppression, trauma, identity, memory, and emotional conflict. Every decision you make shapes the main character’s and people’s fate, leading to multiple, varied endings.

Combining the best of classic point-and-click adventures with new mechanics, including platformer-style challenges and dashing abilities, each character in DEPERSON offers unique skills, adding strategic depth to puzzle-solving and platforming challenges.

Look for DEPERSON when it launches on Steam later this year. You can currently play the first chapter as part of the game’s demo.
