The world of John Carpenter’s original Halloween comes to life like never before in Halloween: The Game, which allows you to explore the nooks and crannies of Haddonfield as either Michael Myers or a number of different original and legacy characters. Those legacy characters include Laurie Strode, who is available as a playable character in Halloween: The Game.

The video game, however, doesn’t have the rights to use Jamie Lee Curtis’ actual likeness, so the game’s version of Laurie Strode looks a little bit different. But what you likely realized is that the game’s Laurie definitely SOUNDS like Jamie Lee Curtis, leading many fans to wonder if the actress actually did voice work for the game. Of course, that is not actually the case.

So who voiced Laurie Strode for Halloween: The Game? That’d be actress Chelsea Krause, who took to social media over the weekend to reveal that she’s the voice behind the game’s Laurie.

Krause writes on Twitter, “I’ve seen quite a lot of people asking- no none of the lines in single player or multiplayer are Jamie Lee Curtis. All of Laurie’s lines/screams/efforts for Halloween: The Game are me! Almost half of my sessions were me matching single player to the movie.”

“Matching Jamie’s tone, musicality, while still being a good actor was difficult but rewarding,” Chelsea Krause wrote in response to a fan. “Wanted to do right by her and all of you!”

Krause notes in another reply tweet, “I had to match voice, musicality, and add emotion so I’d do takes A LOT to get it right.”

Chelsea Krause has done voice work for many video games in recent years, including Starsand Island, The Necromancer’s Tale, Dune: Awakening, Go Home Annie, Realm of Ink, Kristala, Memento Mori, Path to Nowhere, Watcher of Realms, and A Night in Berlin.

She’s also been featured in various podcasts including Set Sail!, The Technomancy Project, Thank Goodness It’s Family, Ominous Thrill, Lucidus Somnia, The Love Talker, Close Your Eyes, When Tower Angels Fall, DragonElf, 7 Suspects, Age of Valor: Heritage, and The Oasis Transmissions.
