Third-Person Survival Horror Title ‘Signal Veil’ Announced for PC, Consoles [Trailer]

Serafini Productions has teamed up with indie developer Time Hunters for their third-person survival horror game, Signal Veil. Launching for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, the game will feature a strong focus on psychological terror and emotional storytelling, wrapped in a 90s anime-inspired aesthetic.

In Signal Veil, players take on the role of Aki Mizuno, a teenage girl whose mother vanishes without a trace. Aki’s mother has left behind one final gift: an old cellphone that reacts to spirits no one else can see. Coincidentally, Aki’s high school has begun to experience series of disappearances, as well as the appearance of strange creatures born from emotional trauma and hidden memories. It’s up to Aki to investigate these disappearances, all the whiel uncovering the truth about herself within the school.

Taking a cue from Silent Hill‘s radio, Aki’s inherited cellphone vibrates, emits unusual sounds, and displays interference whenever spiritual presences or lingering memories are nearby. Not only does it serve as Aki’s primary tool for detecting enemies before they fully manifest, but is also used for identifying corrupted areas, and revealing clues and signals invisible to the naked eye.

Nishikawa High School is a place where every hallway hides a threat and every resource counts. Medicine, ammo and mystical weapons are scarce, so each fight against the school’s spirits demands strategy over brute force. Aki’s sanity adds another layer. As her mind slips, the world around her shifts, enemies grow more unpredictable and her own fighting becomes more desperate.

In addition to the expected fixed camera angles, inventory management and the limited tactical combat, the visuals of Signal Veil blend the tension of classic survival horror such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill with a 90s anime aesthetic inspired by psychological horror series like Another and Jujutsu Kaisen.
