Bunkhouse Games and publisher Shoreline Games have announced that their chaotic first-person 1–4 player co-op adventure Flock Off! will launch on Steam on February 3. What was once a peaceful corner of the Scottish Highlands is now crawling with a very baa-d flock, leaving players to fight their way through the countryside alone or with friends.
“There’s something nostalgic about Flock Off! – fighting through hordes of mutated farm animals reminds me of the days when Left 4 Dead was the ultimate friend co-op, except in Flock Off!, sometimes your friends are the weapon,” says Keith Kawamura, CEO of Shoreline Games. “It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s what makes it fun. I’m looking forward to seeing the clips that come out of this once we put it in players’ hands.”
“We wanted to develop the kind of game you can jump into with friends that creates a lot of little ‘what the flock’ moments, leaving you with stories you’re still laughing about later,” adds Matthias Gudmundsson, Bunkhouse Games co-founder. ” The idea that you can pick up anything, a bed, a lawn mower, a port-a-potty, even your own friend, gave us exactly the kind of chaos we were aiming for. We’ve put a lot into making Flock Off! as ridiculous as possible, and we’re excited to finally put the full game into players’ hands and see what mayhem they create for themselves.”
In Flock Off!, four unlikely survivors find themselves stranded in the remote Scottish Highlands with a slight problem: something has gone very wrong with the local scientists’ sheep cloning experiments. They’re seemingly everywhere, and apparently… armored? With the countryside overrun, getting out means fighting through the flock and making questionable decisions with whatever happens to be lying around.
Fortunately, the Highlands are littered with plenty of things to arm yourself with, whether you prefer swinging, throwing, or letting your own two hands do the work. Desperation will have you grabbing anything, and everything, in arm’s reach.
