Croteam and Devolver Digital are going back to Serious Sam once again, announcing a follow-up to 2022’s Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem with Serious Sam: The Third Encounter. Currently in early development for release on PC via Steam, there’s no release date as of yet. However, we do get a little teaser trailer.
Taking place directly after 2002’s Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, the game sees Sam heading off to strike Mental’s Horde at its heart. The game aims to call back to the “pure, chaotic classic action” of the original games with a “burning fuse of fresh ideas”.
The environments of The Third Encounter will be “dense and vivid”, with Sam’s iconic arsenal returning with a mix of classics and vicious new toys. Players will charge into the action and mayhem either solo, or with friends in full co-op frenzy in “pure, unfiltered bullet-hell mayhem.”
