New Demo for Twin Stick Shooter ‘Demon Spore’ Out Now [Trailer]

After their original publisher Null shut down their publishing operations, DinoBoss took it upon themselves to self-publish their twin stick shooter Demon Spore. Though in the process, the game needed more polish and missed its original release window. Nonetheless, the team has been forging ahead, and have released a brand new demo, just in time for Steam Scream V Fest.

In case you need a refresher, Demon Spore casts you as a top scientist at Protagenics, a cutting-edge genetic research laboratory. You’re racing to solve the problem of feeding an ever growing population. In the process, your team has overstepped ethical boundaries with gene editing in an attempt to breed a new form of livestock that will grow at 100 times the rate of normal animals.

The result is their experiment being mysteriously tampered, resulting in a virally spreading mass of cells that is consuming everything in its path and evolving into a creature from hell. You must use your scientific experience to learn how the organism behaves, exploit its weaknesses and fight your way to safety.

The new demo has you scrambling across the first floor of the Protagenics lab to start your escape – if you can make it to the elevator, you’ll be well-prepared for the horrors in the full release. If the challenge is too much alone, team up with 4 players on the couch, across the world with Steam Remote Play Together, or a mix of both. The full release of Demon Spore will support online co-op.

Strike back against the mass using six experimental weapons, including a tesla coil gun and a scalpel thrower, with more weapons to come in the full release. You may not make it on your first try, but giving up is not an option. Each treacherous attempt has a new layout and new equipment, so choose your route carefully.
