Tim Burton’s Lost “Hansel and Gretel” Short Resurfaces!
For the Tim Burton completists out there we have a very special treat for you.
Resurfacing online is “Hansel and Gretel,” a long lost short film by the great Tim Burton that aired on the Disney Channel back in 1983!
You can watch it in its entry below, even though Burton allegedly wishes it would stay “lost”.
AT LAST!! For you obscure media fans, here is one of legendary filmmaker Tim Burton’s early efforts in collaboration with The Disney Channel that aired only once on Halloween night in 1983.
This is Burton’s unique, twisted, Burtonesque version of the classic Grimm Fairy Tale featuring an all Asian cast. Hansel and Gretel are the two children of a poor toymaker, whose evil stepmother wishes to do away with them to avoid starving. After being intentionally led away in the woods, they come across a gingerbread house attended to by a bizarre, but seemingly nice old hag with a candy cane nose! (played by the same male actor as the Stepmother) who turns out to have evil designs for our heroes!
After the initial airing, Disney Channel execs were so distraught by the frightening subject matter, that they never allowed the film to be shown again. Thankfully, someone managed to tape it that night, which provides us with this footage.

‘Clayface’ Official Trailer – DC’s Body Horror Movie Gives Rise to Gotham’s Shape-Shifting Monster
Warner Bros. and DC have released the brand new official trailer for Clayface, which will bring a whole lot of body horror mayhem into the DC Universe this coming Halloween season.

Tom Rhys Harries stars in the title role of the cult favorite villain from Gotham’s rogues gallery.
Described as DC Studios’ first-ever foray into the genre, Clayface unravels one man’s horrifying descent from rising Hollywood star to revenge-filled monster in a story that explores the loss of one’s identity and humanity, corrosive love, and the dark underbelly of scientific ambition.
Here’s the new official synopsis: “Matt Hagen’s meteoric rise from Gotham street kid to Hollywood leading man is tragically cut short when a local crime boss’s actions leave him horribly disfigured. Abandoned by his team and with nothing left, Matt seeks out a cutting edge treatment that miraculously returns him to his former self… but also unexpectedly affects his grip on reality, spiraling him down a destructive path of all-consuming revenge.”
James Watkins (The Woman in Black, Speak No Evil) directs from a script by Mike Flanagan (“The Haunting of Hill House,” Doctor Sleep) and Hossein Amini (Drive).
James Gunn’s DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran previously called Clayface “an incredible body horror film that reveals a compelling origin of a classic Batman villain.”
The upcoming Clayface horror movie from DC also stars Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan, as well as Nancy Carroll and Joshua James.
