AMC released a new “The Walking Dead” featurette that has interviews with the cast and crew discussing their expectations for Season 5.
My favorite part of the video is where Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, interprets the series for us. Why is it so funny? Because it’s the most basic and generic way to explain “The Walking Dead” to someone. After five seasons, you’d think he’d have something more inspired to say.
“I see it as a story that keeps moving forward,” explains Lincoln, who apparently has never seen anything, ever. “You start with these character in one place, and over time this world changes them.” Because, you know, in film and television, characters aren’t changed by their environment.
It’s hilarious when actors think they’re being profound and clearly aren’t. Love or hate the show, this shit is funny.
“The Walking Dead” premieres on Sunday, October 12 at 9:00pm ET/PT.
