Creeptacular Poster, Trailer For the Eli Roth-Produced ‘Clown’!

Clown

Those of you in Italy get psyched because Clown, a new horror film produced by Eli Roth (The Last Exorcism, Hostel, Cabin Fever, The Green Infenro), is releasing next month. In fact, a new international trailer and poster confirm the news leaving us wondering if TWC-Dimesnion will be announcing soon after? The last time this happened, Horns was quickly given a U.S. date – although there are other films like Kristy still collecting dust on Dimension’s shelves.

Roth became attached to the project after seeing Jon Watts’ awesome faux trailer. It was then turned into the following feature starring Peter Stormare, Laura Allen, Christian DiStefano, Elizabeth Whitmere, Matthew Stefiuk, and Andy Powers.

In the spoof trailer and the upcoming feature, a loving father dons a clown outfit, wig, bulbous nose and pancake makeup to entertain at his son’s sixth birthday after the clown-for-hire is a no-show. Unable to take off the clown garb, dad’s personality changes in horrific fashion. He and his family race to break the curse of the evil outfit before he undergoes a complete transformation into a homicidal killer with over-sized shoes.

Anyways, here’s the Italian one-sheet (wow!) and trailer, along with the old U.S. trailer. The new version, while it doesn’t have subs, has quite a bit of new footage edited in.

Keith C. Blackmore’s book series Mountain Man is headed to the screen, with Deadline reporting today that Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”) is on board to star in the film adaptation.

The actor will also produce the upcoming zombie movie.

Mountain Man tells the story of Gus, a lonely post-apocalyptic survivor facing isolation and the ever-present specter of a zombie attack, who struggles with alcohol abuse and suicidal thoughts until he discovers another survivor, a captivating woman who poses another threat altogether.”

John Lee (False Positive) will direct Mountain Man from a script by Matt Deller.

“John is a brilliant creative mind. We’ve been looking for the right thing to do together since we filmed Pee Wee’s Big Holiday and it’s finally here,” 3:59’s Joe and Nick Manganiello told Deadline. “Very excited to get to work on such weird, wild project with him.”

Film Bridge International is launching sales on the project in Cannes.

Blackmore’s Mountain Man series features 7 books, the first one published in 2011.
