We now have the first TV Spot for Poltergeist, which will be haunting theaters sooner than later, having recently shifted from its July date to May 22, 2015.
The new commercial has quite a bit of new footage that confirms they’re really remaking the 1982 Tobe Hooper/Steven Spielberg classic for the modern generation. In it, you’ll not only see the infamous tree sequence, but also the one in which Craig T. Nelson tears his face completely off. While the original scene was insanely grotesque (trivia: and featured the hands of Spielberg), this one looks to be more PG-13 rated, with maggots and black goo coming from Sam Rockwell’s eyes. On the other hand, the tree looks pretty dope.
