Pig Vs. Primitive Race “Long In The Tooth” Music Video Premiere (Exclusive)

Published

Bloody-Disgusting is excited to team up with industrial outfit Primitive Race to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for “Long In The Tooth”, which comes from the Long In The Tooth EP, out June 5th via Metropolis Records. The album can be pre-ordered physically here or digitally here.

Primitive Race features producer Chris Kniker (Lords Of Acid, RevCo, tweaker), Erie Loch (Luxt, Exageist), Mark Gemini Thwaite (Mission UK, Mob Research, Gary Numan), and Graham Crabb (Pop Will Eat Itself). The EP will feature three original tracks and also features remixes from Praga Khan (Lords Of Acid), Mary Byker (Pigface), Army Of The Universe, and more.

The video plays out very much like the VHS tape from The Ring, featuring a series of dark and surreal images, many of which are cringeworthy. This is all overlain by the track itself, which is a mid-tempo burner, holding back its bite for a more sinister and snarling approach.

Founder/bassist Kniker comments:

I’ve been fortunate enough in my life to meet and have a great group of talented friends. From an early age, I always had a deep admiration for collaborations between artists from different groups and genres. The comradery and creativeness that came from artists on cool labels like Wax Trax, Dischord, Ipecac and Alternative Tentacles always interested and inspired me. I wanted to try and harness some of that spirit. Long In The Tooth was the first song that resulted from that. I worked on a riff. Then Erie added to it and Raymond did his thing. By the time we bounced ideas back and forth we had something we felt was pretty cool. Everything kind of snowballed from there.

For a free download of the “Long In The Tooth (Joe Haze Mix)”, simply head here. A full-length album will follow with a late summer release on Metropolis Records. Additional guests on the band’s debut full-length include Prong’s Tommy Victor, production superstar Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails) and Combichrist’s Kourney Klein.

‘The Haunting of Pennhurst’ Exclusive Clip Trains Scare Actors For Historic Haunt in Tribeca Doc

The Haunting of Pennhurst Clip

The past and present collide in haunting, poignant ways in the genre documentary The Haunting of Pennhurst, which sees a Halloween haunt serve as a reclamation of true historic horrors.

Ahead of its world premiere at the 25th Tribeca Film Festival, we have an exclusive clip that sees scare actors in training for the Halloween season. The catch? This haunt is opening at the historic Pennhurst State School & Hospital site, a facility that caused immense harm to its disabled patients over decades of its operation.

In the documentary, “For over seventy years, Pennhurst State School & Hospital was called a place of care. What happened inside killed over half its population. It closed in 1987, leaving behind unmarked graves and an unresolved history. Today, on those same grounds, disabled performers – many living with the same conditions that once sent people to Pennhurst – put on their makeup, pull on their costumes, and prepare to scare people for a living.

“Through grit, compassion, and buckets of blood, the eclectic performers of the Pennhurst Asylum haunted attraction are wrestling with a space that is at once a lucrative business and a gravesite.”

The upcoming documentary hails from directing trio Nathan Stenberg, Mike Attie, and Katarina Poljak, who explore their socially-relevant subject through archival footage, first-hand accounts, and an immersive verité.

“Pennhurst has haunted us since we first passed through its dragon-tooth gates; the horrors of the institution echo through the site today. We are so grateful to bring this film to the Tribeca Festival, particularly the Escape from Tribeca section, which feels right for a story where past and present bleed together. We hope audiences leave unnerved and asking the same uncomfortable questions we did,” Attie, Stenberg, and Poljak said in a statement.

Watch the clip below that sees disabled and neurodivergent scare actors learning the ropes of a Halloween haunt, reclaiming the site’s grim history in the process.
