Animated ‘Killogy’ Teaser Releases An Ocean of Blood!

Published

on

Killogy is a high-energy, animated dark comedy from creator Alan Robert (Life Of Agony) based on his hit IDW Publishing comic series, in association with Squeeze Studio Animation and award-winning producer Rodney Barnes (“The Boondocks,” “Everybody Hates Chris”).

Stars Frank Vincent (Goodfellas, “The Sopranos”), Marky Ramone (the Ramones), Brea Grant (Halloween II, “Heroes,” “Dexter”), and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein (the Misfits) battle it out in apocalyptic-Brooklyn when an ancient voodoo curse wakes the dead and floods the city with blood. This outrageous premise and bizarre mash-up of punk rock royalty, wiseguy sarcasm, and over-the-top gore makes for one hilarious rollercoaster ride.

“If anyone can survive an ocean of blood and an army of possessed monsters, it’s a drummer from Brooklyn!” laughs Marky Ramone. The stars of the animated series now perform the voices of the characters first seen within the pages of Robert’s Killogy comics. “When I was approached to lend my likeness to a comic book, I didn’t know what that meant, but it was a big thrill for me. And now voicing Sally Sno-Cones in the 3D animation, it’s amazing. I feel like Superman!” says Frank Vincent.

Killogy is produced under Robert’s Wasted Talent Entertainment banner, consisting of Robert, Chris White (V/H/S Viral) and Jeff Mazzola (Descent). The producers are actively pursuing distribution for the series. “There’s nothing quite like this on television,” says Robert, “I think the world is ready for a talking, severed-head narrator. Don’t you?”

Killogy was nominated for Best Mini-Series (2013) and Best One-Shot (2014) at the Ghastly Awards and picked up a Horror Comic Award for Best Scene from ComicMonsters.com. Bloody Disgusting listed Killogy at #4 on their Top 10 Best Mini-Series of 2013. The “Killogy: Halloween Special” sold out within its first week of distribution and IDW immediately issued a second printing. The critically acclaimed Killogy graphic novel was recently translated in Portuguese for a Brazilian release through NFL Zine.

Alan Robert is best known for being the primary-songwriter and bassist for the respected hard rock group Life of Agony for over two decades. LOA recorded several studio albums for Epic/Sony and Roadrunner Records developing a cult following in the process. The band has shared the stage with the biggest names in rock, including Metallica, Black Sabbath, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The group has headlined to audiences as large as 500,000 people in Europe and will appear on several festival dates this summer.

In recent years, Robert has made quite the name for himself in the world of comics with three critically acclaimed series under his belt; “Wire Hangers” (2010), “Crawl to Me” (2012), and “Killogy” (2013). Robert’s much anticipated “The Shunned One” is expected for a 2016 release. His hit series “Crawl to Me” is in development to become a live-action feature based on a screenplay written by TJ Cimfel and David White (Shut In).

Sleepy Hollow movie

Paramount is heading to Sleepy Hollow with a brand new feature film take on the classic Headless Horseman tale, with Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines) announced to direct the movie back in 2022. But is that project still happening, now two years later?

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know this afternoon that Paramount Pictures has renewed its first-look deal with Lindsey Anderson Beer, and one of the projects on the upcoming slate is the aforementioned Sleepy Hollow movie that was originally announced two years ago.

THR details, “Additional projects on the development slate include… Sleepy Hollow with Anderson Beer attached to write, direct, and produce alongside Todd Garner of Broken Road.”

You can learn more about the slate over on The Hollywood Reporter. It also includes a supernatural thriller titled Here Comes the Dark from the writers of Don’t Worry Darling.

The origin of all things Sleepy Hollow is of course Washington Irving’s story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” which was first published in 1819. Tim Burton adapted the tale for the big screen in 1999, that film starring Johnny Depp as main character Ichabod Crane.

More recently, the FOX series “Sleepy Hollow” was also based on Washington Irving’s tale of Crane and the Headless Horseman. The series lasted four seasons, cancelled in 2017.
