Audiences React to Eli Roth’s ‘The Green Inferno’
Night-cam is on and the audience is reacting to Eli Roth cannibal horror The Green Inferno, in theaters September 25th.
“I want people to see The Green Inferno and say, ‘I’ve never seen anything like that in a movie theater before,'” Roth told Yahoo!
In terms of shocking audiences, I think honesty and believability are key. Roth feels good about this…
“What I am most proud of is [The Green Inferno] looks and feels authentic. I used to think Cannibal Holocaust was real, even knowing it was a movie, it just looked and felt like these people really existed. That’s what I wanted in The Green Inferno: The village has to look and feel like a real, functioning society.”
Heading deep into The Green Inferno with Lorenza Izzo are Ariel Levy, Daryl Sabara and Kirby Bliss Blanton, who star in the pic that “follows a group of student activists who from New York City travel to the Amazon to protect a dying tribe, but crash in the jungle and are taken hostage by the very natives they saved.
Dark and primitive customs still rule the Amazon jungle: cannibalism and other mind, body and soul-destroying rituals. Trapped in the village, these high-tech modern-world students experience the ultimate in primal barbaric terror, suffering unspeakable acts of violence in an intense and chilling rituals reserved only for the most threatening intruders.”
Following in the wake of Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse getting their own horror movies, Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid is the next to get the twisted treatment.
Originally published in 1837, the original tale of The Little Mermaid is now in the public domain, and MSR Media International presents their own horror version of the tale this year.
The Little Mermaid is being distributed by Grindstone Entertainment Group, and the film has officially been rated “R” this week for “Language, some violence and brief nudity.”
In the film from director Leigh Scott, “Dr. Eric Prince, an archaeologist, makes a dramatic discovery on a small Caribbean island—proof of an ancient, advanced prehistoric society. While his dig is in progress, he meets the mysterious and beautiful Aurora Bey and falls in love. Her arrival coincides with several mermaid sightings and strange disappearances.
“When Eric’s friend and mentor, Dr. Ashley, arrives on the island, Ashley uncovers the true identity of Aurora and the dangers of the hidden evil inside Eric’s dig site. Will Eric heed his friend’s advice, or will he be blinded by love and the power of the siren, allowing the world to fall to the forces of evil?”
