It’s Alive! ‘Victor Frankenstein’ Trailer Brings the Creature Feature Back to Life!
Twentieth Century Fox’s own version of Frankenstein, based on the 1818 Marry Shelley novel, is being resurrected this Thanksgiving.
Bloody Disgusting just nabbed both the UK and official U.S. trailer for Victor Frankenstein, which literally looks to save the creature feature subgenre. The footage features James McAvoy as the title character, with Harry Potter, Horns and The Woman In Black‘s Daniel Radcliffe as the newest Igor, the hunchback assistant to Dr. Frankenstein, in the latest adaptation that will open in theaters on November 25th, 2015.
I’ve already been hearing this movie is phenomenal, but seeing the footage excited me quite a bit for one particular reason – it appears this movie is more about Visitor and Igor, not about their monster. Clearly Max Landis’ script was correctly focused, which could lead to some truly impactful characters. We don’t see frankenstein in the trailer, and that’s fine because it still looks so goddamn riveting.
“Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (James McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Daniel Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences. Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creation. ”
“It’s about creation, and Victor is not only creating this monster but in a sense Igor, who in the beginning of the movie is living in abject conditions and considered less than human,” Radcliffe told EW in July.
A combustible friendship forms.
“Victor’s ego means that at times he thinks he’s superior to Igor,” McAvoy says. “Their relationship is close, loving, abusive, manipulative, and it turns on a dime.”
Victor Frankenstein, directed by Paul McGuigan, also stars Mark Gatiss, Jessica Brown Findlay and Andrew Scott.

Intense New ‘The Dog Stars’ Trailer Warns to Fear the Survivors Post-Apocalypse
The new trailer for epic survival thriller The Dog Stars warns to fear the survivors of the apocalypse.
Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Josh Brolin (Weapons), and Margaret Qualley (The Substance) try to maintain their humanity in the intense new trailer for Ridley Scott‘s survivor thriller, releasing in theaters on August 28, 2026.
The film is “set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. Scott tells the story of Hig, a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley, has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world until a mysterious radio transmission spurs Hig to venture into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exists.”
Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney also star.
The film is based on Peter Heller’s bestselling novel and written by Mark L. Smith (Overlord, The Revenant) and produced by Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Mark L. Smith, and Cliff Roberts.
Check out the new trailer and poster below, which emphasize the thrills in the upcoming survival thriller. But it’s one that’s also filled with hope.
“I think people will be surprised and engaged, actually. I would say, hmm… charmed as well,” Scott says of the film. “Although, there is some violence.”
