Tons of ‘Paranormal Activity’ From ‘The Ghost Dimension’ (Trailer)
Toby is going to haunt you this October…
Paramount just released this new footage from Greg Plotkin’s Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, in theaters October 23, 2015.
The finale will reveal Toby, and answer all of our questions, as it was revealed a few months back. The trailer really takes things to 10, showing some 3-D shots (a girl vomiting ectoplasm) as the audience it literally taken into the “ghost dimension” (presumably with the aid of a camera that’s been given super special “tweaks”). Oh, and does Toby make an appearance? Baphomet sure does…
“Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, directed by Gregory Plotkin, follows a new family, the Fleeges — father Ryan (Chris J. Murray), mother Emily (Brit Shaw) and their young daughter Leila (Ivy George) — who move into a house and discover a video camera and a box of tapes in the garage.
When they look through the camera’s lens, they begin to see the paranormal activity happening around them — including the re-emergence of young Kristi and Katie.” (USA Today)
Filming is underway in New Jersey on Parker Finn’s remake of Andrzej Żuławski’s 1981 psychological horror movie Possession, and Deadline reports that three new faces have joined the cast.
Madeline Brewer (Cam, “You”), Emory Cohen (Sweetheart, Lords of Chaos), and Nicholas Alexander Chavez (“Grotesquerie“) have joined previously announced cast members Margaret Qualley, Callum Turner, Diego Calva, and Paul Dano.
Parker Finn is writing, directing and producing the new take on Possession.
Just how closely Finn’s update will follow the 1981 cult classic remains to be seen, but the original film starred Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill as married couple Anna and Mark in Cold War-era West Berlin whose relationship spirals into a supernatural nightmare. Suspicions of infidelity soon give way to something much more sinister.
Isabelle Adjani’s unforgettable performance, particularly the infamous subway sequence that remains one of horror’s most iconic scenes, helped catapult the 1981 film into cult masterpiece status and remains influential, even as recent as Nell Tiger Free’s turn in The First Omen.
Adjani previously gave the remake, and Qualley’s casting in particular, her blessing.
Producers include Jonathan Fass, Roy Lee, Andrew Childs, and Robert Pattinson. Marc Bienstock will executive produce.
