“Ash vs Evil Dead”: We Have the Opening 4-Minutes!
Ash finally gets some.
Bloody Disgusting has the opening 4-minutes from “Ash vs Evil Dead” (read our review) in which the audience is introduced to our flawed hero. Ash is still alive and kicking, and even though he’s older, he’s just as arrogant and confident. It works, though, as he ends up in a dirty bar bathroom using that Magnum condom he grabbed off his counter. The only problem is, this climax doesn’t end in ecstasy…
Set to premiere on October 31st, in the 10-episode “Ash vs Evil Dead”, “Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.”
Ash’s Value Stop co-workers are Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana Delorenzo), with the great Lucy Lawless appearing as Ruby.
Sam Raimi directed the “Ash vs Evil Dead” pilot that following the events of his The Evil Dead franchise, including Army of Darkness.

“Wednesday”: Tim Burton’s Live Action ‘Addams Family’ Series for Netflix Casts Thora Birch and More
It was officially announced in February that Tim Burton is headed to the small screen with a new live-action series centered on Wednesday Addams, coming soon from Netflix.
The series, which is simply titled “Wednesday,” will follow the beloved Addams Family character’s “spooky coming-of-age.” Eight episodes have been ordered up by Netflix.
Jenna Ortega (The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Scream) has signed on to star as Wednesday Addams, with Luis Guzmán as Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams!
Additionally, we’ve learned from Deadline that the show’s cast will include Thora Birch (Ghost World, The Walking Dead), Riki Lindhome (Knives Out, Another Period), Jamie McShane (Mank, Bloodline), Hunter Doohan (Your Honor, Truth Be Told), Georgie Farmer (Treadstone, The Evermoor Chronicles), Moosa Mostafa (Nativity Rocks!, The Last Bus), Emma Myers (Girl in the Basement, Taste of Christmas), Naomi J. Ogawa (Skylin3s), Joy Sunday (Dear White People, The Beta Test) and Percy Hynes White (The Gifted, Pretty Hard Cases).
For starters, “Birch will portray Tamara Novak. Wednesday’s dorm mother and the only “Normie” on staff at Nevermore Academy with a focus on all things botanical.”

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) are writing and showrunning. Burton is directing.
Wednesday Addams has most recently been played by Chloë Grace Moretz in 2019’s animated movie, and earlier in live-action by Lisa Loring on TV and Christina Ricci in the films.
