The Rock Does His Best/Worst Schwarzenegger On Set of ‘Rampage’

Published

Filming on the Brad Peyton-directed Rampage continues over in Atlanta, where Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is battling a handful of mega-sized monsters that are sure to make his past in-ring adversaries look like child’s play. The Rock is the biggest movie star in the world right now, so who better to battle the world’s biggest monsters?!

Johnson, who idolized Arnold Schwarzenegger growing up, has in many ways become this generation’s Schwarzenegger, which must be pretty wild for him. From the set of Rampage, Johnson just uploaded a fun little behind the scenes video wherein he pays tribute to the man who inspired his own action career!

He captioned the video…

Nailed it. Enjoy me completely butchering my best @schwarzenegger impersonation while rehearsing on set of #Rampage. When I was a kid Arnold was one of my heroes. And when I first started in Hollywood, he was one of the biggest stars on the planet and was so supportive and welcoming to me, when he didn’t have to be. First time we had dinner he said, “You can take the brass ring to places it’s never been before” in his iconic accent which clearly I suck at.

15 long hard working years later, here I am. Grateful. This one’s for you brother.

Based on the popular Midway video game, Rampage stars Johnson as Davis Okoye, a primatologist who shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster.

The cast also includes Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Malin Akerman (TV’s Billions), Jake Lacy (TV’s Girls), Joe Manganiello (TV’s True Blood), Jeffrey Dean Morgan(TV’s The Walking Dead), P.J. Byrne (Final Destination 5), Marley Shelton (Solace), Breanne Hill (San Andreas), Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), and Matt Gerald (TV’s Daredevil).

The film will Rampage into theaters on April 20, 2018.

‘Alien Hunt’ – It’s an ‘Alien’ and ‘Predator’ Mockbuster Rolled into One! [Trailer]

While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.

This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.

You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!

In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?

“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.

“The formidable squad of alien soldiers will stop at nothing to wipe out the enemy and in an all-out, brutal battle for survival, it’s kill or be killed in Alien Hunt.”

Barron Boedecker (Escape Pod, The Bigfoot Trap), Brent Bentley (The Perfect In-Laws, Haunt Season), Deiondre Teagle (The Visitor, Painted in Blood, Death Ranch), Chelsey Fuller (The Bigfoot Trap, The Silent Natural), Jesse Santoyo (A Nashville Country Christmas, Potter’s Ground), and Adam Pietripaoli (The Bigfoot Trap, The OctoGames) star.
