Powerful Opening Scene From ‘Thelma’ Will Make You Gasp in Shock
Joachim Trier’s dark coming-of-age thriller Thelma, which is about a young woman who falls in love only to discover she has terrifying and inexplicable powers, is now in limited theaters across the Nation via The Orchard.
Joe Lipsett caught the premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and called it “a striking coming-of-age thriller that resembles Carrie.”
The Orchard provided us with the opening scene from the film that will immediately grab your attention. In the scene, a young girl and her father bond over a hunting excursion, only the trip takes a dark turn that will make you gasp in shock…
“Thelma, a shy young student, has just left her religious family in a small town on the west coast of Norway to study at a university in Oslo. While at the library one day, she experiences a violent, unexpected seizure. Soon after, she finds herself intensely drawn toward Anja, a beautiful young student who reciprocates Thelma’s powerful attraction. As the semester continues, Thelma becomes increasingly overwhelmed by her intense feelings for Anja – feelings she doesn’t dare acknowledge, even to herself – while at the same time experiencing even more extreme seizures. As it becomes clearer that the seizures are a symptom of inexplicable, often dangerous, supernatural abilities, Thelma is confronted with tragic secrets of her past, and the terrifying implications of her powers.”
The Norwegian-language pic stars Eili Harboe, Okay Kaya, Ellen Dorrit Petersen and Henrik Rafaelsen.
The killer tomatoes are back in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, and the offiical poster for the brand new movie has been unleashed tonight.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the film’s theatrical release is set for this August, with a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con this month featuring the world premiere of the trailer.

The film features an ensemble cast led by franchise icon John Astin (The Addams Family), reprising his role as Professor Gangreen, comedy legend David Koechner (Anchorman), Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), horror favorite Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), comedy veteran Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Vernée Watson (Shrinking, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and Paul Bates (Coming to America).
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes launched in 1979, followed by 1988’s Return of the Killer Tomatoes, 1991’s Killer Tomatoes Strike Back, and 1992’s Killer Tomatoes Eat France.
The franchise also spawned an animated series in 1990.
