Currently a director at Disney TV Animation, Bob Bowen has been a storyboard artist and episode director for fan favorite shows such as “Futurama,” “American Dad!” and “Family Guy,” most recently directing 14 episodes of Disney’s “Milo Murphy’s Law.” Once upon a time, he pitched an animated project inspired by Creature from the Black Lagoon!
As Bowen revealed on Facebook this week, he and Jacob Hair collaborated on “Creature from the Fun Lagoon,“ whipping up a 3-minute pitch video for the project.
“With Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water coming out this week, I thought I would share an animated pitch I did with Jacob Hair based on The Creature from the Black Lagoon,” said Bowen. “The pitch was animated comedy for kids where the creature is the star of a faltering water park.“
He added, “The pitch didn’t go anywhere, hope you enjoy it.”
It’s unclear whether this would’ve been a movie or series (I can only assume the latter), but we think you’ll enjoy this glimpse of a fun project that’ll never see the light of day.
