The ultimate teaching machine spirals out of control when the Vestron Video Collector’s Series releases the sci-fi thriller Class of 1999, arriving for the first time on limited edition Blu-ray on January 30, 2018, from Lionsgate.
From Mark L. Lester, director of Commando, Class of 1984, and Firestarter, the film has been remastered and restored. In it, a high school principal employs robotic teachers to keep order in an inner-city school, but when the androids become deadly, opposing teenage gangs must unite to save their own lives.
Starring Malcolm McDowell, Stacy Keach and Pam Grier, Class of 1999 is packed with all-new special features, including audio commentaries with director Mark L. Lester, isolated score selections, interviews with the crew and more!
Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive look at an interview with the film’s special effects artists who details the infamous sequence in which Grier opens her chest, revealing she’s an android. The duo reveals that they used props from Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker to create the effect! Here’s the bit…

Brazilian Werewolf Fable ‘Good Manners’ Finally Gets Physical Media Release
One of contemporary horror’s best werewolf movies is 2017’s Good Manners, and it’s finally set to receive a proper physical media release.
Icarus Films is partnering with OCN Distribution to unleash a new Blu-ray that’s now available to preorder via Vinegar Syndrome. and with a limited edition slipcover.
Set in São Paulo, the film follows Clara, a lonely nurse from the outskirts of the city who is hired by mysterious and wealthy Ana to be the nanny of her soon to be born child. Against all odds, the two women develop a strong bond. But a fateful night marked by a full moon changes their plans.
Good Manners is the second collaboration between filmmakers Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra, who write and direct. Zama’s Rui Poças‘ cinematography captures this unique werewolf tale described as “Disney meets Jacques Tourneur.”
Our own Trace Thurman wrote in his review, “With Good Manners, Rojas and Dutro have made one of the best werewolf movies ever made. That they are able juggle commentaries on racism and classism while still managing to tell two deeply affecting love stories is remarkable.”
