Though the moment has been spoofed and done to death in various sequels and spinoffs over the years, lessening its power to terrify, the scene where Sadako/Samara emerges from a television set in Ringu and then American remake The Ring is unquestionably one of the scariest in horror history. It’s one of those moments we’ll simply never forget.
Programmer Abhishek Singh has brought that scene to life in the real world, thanks to the wonders of augmented reality technology, for a video that’s going viral across the internet and reminding that Sadako/Samara is still scary after all these years.
