After Universal Pictures removed the film from their slate, Netlifx rescued Ben Young’s sci-fi thriller Extinction, acquiring it for exclusive release through their streaming service. Now, Netflix has revealed that the film will have its World Premiere on July 27th!

Extinction, starring Michael Peña (Ant-Man) and Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield), follows a man who has a recurring dream of losing his family. His nightmare turns into a reality when the planet is invaded by a force bent on brutality and destruction. Fighting for their lives, he comes to realize an unknown strength to keep his family safe from harm. Mike Colter, Lilly Aspell, Emma Booth, Israel Broussard, and Lex Shrapnel also star.

Netflix has provided us with not only the film’s official trailer, but also some hi-res stills and poster art. Ironically, the trailer carries a scene reminiscent of one from A Quiet Place, also about alien invaders. These films are all starting to blend together…
